Mr Watchman's Original Thornit (Canker) Powder's proven formula of 1907. This amazing, over 100 year old formula is made up of ingredients that are carefully balanced to help battle ear mites in dogs, cats and rabbits.

The main ingredient is Iodoform which has a very distinctive medical smell that helps to discourage the mites.  Boric is also one of the ingredients which acts as an effective antiseptic to help with the damage that may be caused through the animal constantly scratching.  Zinc oxide is also added as a drying and curing agent that helps irritation and to stop the itch cycle.

All of the balanced ingredients of Thornit are mixed together and ground down to a powder as finely as possible to help you with easy administration.

INSTRUCTIONS:

EARS Brown, waxy scabs inside ears are caused by mites. Scabs may be dry or weep, or have globs of puss that smells. Symptoms are scratching, head shaking, ear rubbing and distress. Red sores, inflammation and blood clots may be caused by scratching.

Treatment: Do NOT clean earwax before dusting the ear with Thornit. Remove excess moisture and lightly dust a pinch of powder around the affected area, avoiding the earhole. Gently massage the powder into the ear. Apply twice daily for up to 5 days. Immediate relief comes with the first dose. Stop treatment, when the brown wax moves, as this indicates the mites are dead. Then gently clean out the ear. Dust weekly to prevent re-infestation.

ANUS If your pet pulls its bottom on the floor and it is not a gland problem, then mites may be breeding under the tail. Treatment: Apply a small amount of cream to your finger and dip into Thornit. Apply just below tail.

PAWS Mites get between toes, causing your pet to lick and nibble their paws making them sore. Treatment: Put a small amount of Thornit into a clear plastic bag. Put your dog's paw in the bag and shake. Work Thornit between toes, pads and a little way up the leg.
